If anyone gets Impressions, check out page 50 and that's us! Nice write up, and they used other pictures that we submitted throughout the issue. I have yet to make an official introduction of myself or my company, so this is a start.
If you want to read the article you can do so here:impressions magazine writeup (http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/impressions/201409/index.php#/56)

EDIT: fixed the link

Too late! The window for introductions runs out at 250 posts! LOL!
Congrats on the exposure though!
-
yikes, 60,000 shirts and you didn't get paid?! Can you go into that a bit more as a warning to the rest of us...
-
link does not work for me

change ftp to http in the url

Nice! I noticed the new site a while back, looking pretty darn snazzy! The bands part of the article reminds me of high school and shows in downtown Roanoke listening to Swank (Kingscreen on here), and other local bands rock out. I cannot even fathom a 60k piece no-pay.
-
60k no payment...
-
Ahh man, I missed the window! Well, hi anyway.
Integrity - Thanks! The site still needs a ton of content, but we're definitely excited about it. Do we know each other? I used to book/play some of those shows with Swank. Did you go to their reunion last year, or the year before?
The 60k piece order was brutal hit, for sure, but for the most part we are past everything. The customer simply overshot, big time, and in the end could only pay for a part of the total bill. Regardless of the contract, if there is no money there is no money and so instead of pursuing legal action against them I decided to take 40% of the company and help keep the company afloat in hopes of recouping as much as I can. So far it's working pretty well.

I was going to say "you have 323 posts!" but Andy beat me to it. It's cool to be in a national mag though, how many of your friends can say that? My old company was in there back in the 80's, I still have the copy somewhere (I like pictures of myself where I have hair on top of my head...)

Maybe you can get it into the business section of your local paper...

imPRESSive indeed. Nice story. Love seeing where all the folks here come from. And I should have said it long ago, but welcome.
-
Love the photograph. DOF is nice.
-
Congrats. WOW. That was a nice write up!
-
Steve, great idea! I've put those wheels in motion.
Thanks again everyone.
Kirkage - what is DOF? I'm going to feel stupid when you tell me, I know it.
-
DOF = Depth of Field
it's a technique used in DSLR cameras and pro movie cameras to make certain areas/objects in focus and blur the rest of the image.
for those that remember old school SLR (lens & body) cameras, you set the F-stop to a low number, bump your shutter speed slower to compensate and that's what causes the effect to happen.
-
Ahh, I see. My wife took the photos, I stick to the iPhone shots.
-
finally got to read it, nice write up! 60k pieces, you guys should be damn proud to have pulled out of that one alive...i think i would have went Saw II on their asses....

Wouldn't you increase your shutter speed since the low number f stop is opening the lens wider and letting in more light? I'm sure you meant that, and your brain and fingers just had a frog moment.

Great write up.
About the $60K thing…I learned a long time ago in business, that those who talk big and can pay, don't have a problem at all with posting a substantial deposit (unless you're talking about a large retailer, like Walmart or Walgreens…who may take a while, but WILL pay). If they talk big, but won't give you a deposit, then run. (Of course, I think you've already learned that lesson the hard way). Nice job in recovering from that!
