Title: Update on the Winged Floodbars
Post by: 3Deep on August 30, 2011, 03:44:21 PM
Well Rich came thru just like he said, got the winged floodbar today and just intime to run a job with it.
Ok first thing it wouldn't lock into the quick release holder(it would slide from side to side) they shaved just a little to much off the edges, so I fix that by adding some blue blockout tape in that spot to build the edge back up.
Did that on the front and back of the floodbar then lock it back in pretty dam tight this time, and it worked like a champ never had to card the white ink once during the hold run( small run 100 prints).  Talk with Rich and he is going to make one more for me, and guys I think we are in business, I really like the design and the wings can be bend in a little or out a little to handle 14 and 15 inch squeegees.

Just more proof that our "bias" works! We only have a very high class of equipment manufacturer here.  Just another advantage to joining The Shirt Board rather than "those other places"   lol! ;D

I would say something like "that's what I hear" , but damn, even with removing bookmarks I still find myself in the dark places from time to time by clicking poorly named links and even a sneaky bookmark (my own fault) for the Intek price list just yesterday! A hasty retreat though!

and people wonder why M&R is at the top!!!  Great work M&R and you guys will love your winged floodbars...like I have said before, I have both M&R and Action Engineering and I like the M&R better due to cleaning of them and ease of use....you would think they are the same, but M&R's just seem to fit a bit better...

Edit:  Sorry, so much I could have said here but I got to stop bringing up old S.  Good job Rich, just goes to show that you do lend help at forums besides your own, contrary to some people's observations.  See, I just can't stop, sorry folks, got a lot of pinned up issues with some "things".

Good man!

You are learning. When in doubt, it's usually better to not post.  ;)

Go out and shoot some targets with those guns you have. That always helps release some tension!!

Sounds like a good idea for this weekend.  The Springfield needs a little action.

Rich,

Could you PM me what the price would be for those floodbars.  I am needing 3-6 of them.  Thanks

As soon as I get the material cost and labor calculated I will do that. Should be as soon as 3deep confirms the one he receives tomorrow fits.

Can you help your slower M&R customers figure out where to find them on the online store? I've looked but can't find them.

Alan, what do you shoot? Not targets, but weapon of choice,

Didn't we just learn on this very same subject that once posted here, it's not "just for you"  Just ask Shanarchy, Northland, CCsign and whoever else was in on the original discussion about winged floodbars!

Hrumph, just a place for chit chat indeed!

I thought that was said tongue in cheek. I didn't mean to cause any trouble.

OK, I'm confussed, which is not unusual, Rich, does M&R now make a winged flood bar?  I remember I got some with my Diamondback but they really weren't very handy.  Did you guys make another one?  Several years ago I bought some from, I think Action, where Sam said he got his.  They really do make the day go quicker.  If you are running an auto and don't use winged floodbars and card ink, you are spending to much time!
If you've got some better ones, I'll take 5 of them.  Just make sure you figure labor cost at minimum wage, there are a lot of people out of work!  I'm on the books, SIPCO/Identity Apparel, and I think my line of credit is large enough for some floodbars? (better be)  Send them out when you can, I'll take a video of them and post it here. (that's NOT solicitating a discount, I just learn so much here if I can give a little back, good)

Right now I've got a Springfield Armory XD 40, couple random shotguns, all 20 ga dove hunting guns, and a 1940 something 38 revolver and an even older 22 range pistol.  Right now the only one I shoot regularly is the XD 40 because the older pistols aren't near as much fun.

Of course it was.   ;D  We seem to really be finding the balance of fun and serious help here.

I don't always use my smilies and "lol's" but it's really almost all good here!

Yes we make a winged flood bar. What size do you need? I think you were set up for everything 16" but I am not sure.

So far so good with the prototype I got..even with the tape on it it seems to be doing the trick, like I said to Rich once we get the one thats fits perfect I post the vid.  They my not sell a ton of the 14 floods because of the market we're in, but thank M&R and Rich for jumping in and helping out.

Just wanted to let everyone know we got 10 M&R winged flood bars with our new press and they work and fit just fine. I think the design is actually a bit better than the action ones.
