Title: Auto press without micros?? - (joking)
Post by: DannyGruninger on December 12, 2014, 06:38:54 PM
Dirk and I were talking this morning about our setups here and he mentioned Rich should build me a press without micros LOL...... Thought it was funny so decided to share on here.

I've been going over our production notes this week and we had a great week here with setups on press. 3 days in a row we did not touch a micro on our autos -

we did 52 setups this week, 268 screens - out of the 52 setups only 9 of them needed micro adjustments according to our notes here.... We did a combination of sim process and regular spot color jobs this week, hoodies, sweatpants, t-shirts, zipper prints, you name it we did it this week.

It's taken me a while to dial my process in to make our cts jive with our presses but no doubt without cts we wouldn't have done half of what we did, 4 guy crew is all.

Thanks to m&r for making my week kickass, not every week is like this but when they are we can't be more happy with our system/equipment.

Can you please share some of your tricks for this?

We have to micro several screens almost every setup.

Would love to get to your point.

Jason, have you ever seen Danny?

Here's a pic, it might explain why he doesn't think he needs to micro anything.

Yeah, it would make you press faster without all of that dead weight!  You should definitely strip all that shite off it! ;)

@Kev... while I know you're joking about that, I've personally seen a few of Danny's "no-micro" prints, and they're damn amazing to see in person.

I'm pretty sure no one will argue that. :)

you have the right tools. When you get the big one out of the way take the time since you are close to spend some time with our crew. It will be worth it

Danny continues to kill it.  Definitely a shop to look up to.

We are seeing pretty great results now as well.  No micro on some jobs, and when you consider some of them are 7-8 colors per side that's pretty good to me, a lot of room for human error there.  Most jobs are at worst 1 screen tiny movement. I can't complain.

we are still learning our trilock and i-image. Rarely are jobs spot perfect, but we are getting closer. especially with discharge.

We have both shurloc and newman m3's that we image with the i image.  I noticed with the shurlocs that the i image frame holder hits the frame much higher on the frame then the triloc does on press so I'm usually off by a little.  With the newmans I'm usually 100% spot on.
