This is pretty neat. A friend of mine just posted this video:

apparently they are selling these plattens for $250

Very cool, would be awesome to see 14 of them flying around an automatic. 8)
A local longboard company has been trying to get me to print their decks for a long time. I ended up consulting with them on building their own rig as I wanted nothing to do with it. After a lot of trial and error, they eventually gave up and bought a heat roller transfer thing or whatever its called. Now they want me to print the transfers. :o
Anyhow, whoever invented that thing is pretty rad, and I'm sure they'll sell plenty to the DIY crowd.

That is badass.

nice

The bent screens for full deck printing were kinda' cool as well.
I'm still of the old surfboard frame of mind, and would laminate decals or translucent paper prints under fiberglass, but I guess most decks are just plain wood now.
Heck, my first board back in '63 had the builder's business card under the layers of fiberglass.

Super rad!

Mad props to that guy!! :-*
Hey all you floppy screen guys..
THIS IS TOTALLY FOR YOU!!
The lower the tension, the BETTER!!!
-
I may order one of these. This is really awesome!
Side note: There is a Rodney Mullen deck on my shop wall. I love that guy!
Now is where John Sheridan is going to tell us we should get Newman's so we can make the tension LOWER than those high tension statics. :P

Anybody have any luck with one of these? Also, I would be interested to hear any stories about messing around with screen tension to print on irregular shapes.
