Picture if you will, something like banquet table covering, but it's really some kind of plasticized material they sell down here at nurseries to cover your tender vegetation from the cold. Definitely not cloth.
I knew better, but i tried taking a corner (its 10 x 12) and printed 2 colors. Couldn't get it to the dryer, thank God, so I pulled up the flash. As you can imagine, it melted. Big surprise, eh? Now I'm even happier I could not get it started in the dryer, Holy Sh!t !!
The custy only has about 8 of these so it's really a PITA. I guess the right thing would be air dry, but for the low quantity, it does not justify the cost of materials. Not to mention it's 2 colors and I think it would be a problem using air dry (nazdar, etc) with 2 colors. Of course with several of the 10 x 12 laying around drying, that could get pretty interesting in my small space setup.
A remote thought was to try vinyl transfers and I had a scrap one around (unrelated). When I peeled off the backing, the image wanted to lift up some. Once I got the backing off and pressed it again using parchment paper, it stuck and was not coming off again.
Now that I've laid it all out there, opinions? Options?

I use nazdar ink to print on foil balloons. We use hair dryers. It will get the ink gelled in about 30-40 seconds. We do have a 100 piece minimum for 2 colors. The cost is $265.00 for 1 side printing. If they are willing to pay it may be worth it to get some ink samples. I'll even send you enough for 8 units if you can make it worth your time.

So you use the hair dryer to gel for 2nd coat? Or to cure?
How fast does it dry in the screen? Years back I did some 'stickers' and used Nazdar ink and I remember having to work fast.
This job is 2 colors - black and genesis red.

if you have a cutter why not get a small yardage of window sticky vinyl. then just cut and stick. make sure it is outdoor rated.

Ive used nazdar ink on glass. did 3 color work with halftones. Worked out ok..just kept the screen flooded when changing pcs so it would not dry out as quick.

I don't have a cutter, but I've reached out to one of our members (CYW) to see about vinyl stickers. Going to check with custy too.

The first layer is gelled. The full cure is done with additional hair dryers after the second color is printed. We do add re181 retarder to our inks. It will dry in the screen in less than a minute if we are not printing.

Air dry inks... probably a multi purpose, maybe use a clear spray on primer for extra good adhesion

Custy did not plan ahead and really needed something today in a transfer and supposedly had someone local to do it. Good for him, lol. He'll be back when he needs shirts from me :)
