Title: quick intro
Post by: joe ink on January 24, 2015, 02:32:25 PM
Hi, my name is Joe. I live in southern California. I've been screen printing and designing (Mostly as a hobby) for about 20 years. I have a small setup in my garage  few customers but am always trying new stuff with screen printing. I see it as an art form and love the entire process. I use this forum as a reference guide.  The articles in this forum have helped take me to the next level. Thanks. I look forward to contributing some of my humble knowledge.

I did. Had a great time. Best thing for me was learning about "special effects" inks I never knew existed.

It was my first show and didn't know what to expect so no classes but really wish i would have. These are probably old news to you guys but in the International Coatings booth, they had on display this stuff called blowout base and granite base kind of like (puff ink). They combined different inks together like metallic ink, foil, etc to create completely new (to me) effects. They used discharge ink (wich I haven't used yet) in the very back of the design and gave it a real "smokey" look behind it all. Maybe I impress easy but I'm working on a couple designs where I can incorporate it all in. Wish me luck.
