Frog,
Interesting provisional quote you have at the top of your blog -- at least on the veneer; simply non-interesting, though, if we push beneath the veneer of the shallow shock value and crass comedy it's supposed to provide (though also interesting to note the caging of such comments in the past).
This has been answered for 2,000 years -- Feiffer would do well to read Romans 6. Thus, rather than coming off as a smart-a$$, Feiffer looks like a dumb-a$$.

The quip by Jules Feiffer was merely a tip of the hat on the occasion of his birthday. Apparently his humor is not everyone's cup of tea.

It wasn't my cup of tea either. I'm glad you took it down.
Now I won't have to behead you, or blow up your coffee house, or take hostages at gunpoint in your place of business while yelling something in Greek.
You KNOW how violent we Christians are when someone says something about our Christ.
(No wait.....that's the wrong religion. Nevermind...)
Glad you took it down. I was just going send you a genteel P.M. but since Screenprinter123 broke the ice, I decided to join in.
Stan
P.S. Did I say how glad I was you took it down??

You're telling me Jesus had no sense of humor?
-
The intent was never to offend. I just wanted to say Happy Birthday Jules.
In retrospect I would have been better with
βI used to think I was poor. Then they told me I wasn't poor, I was needy. Then they told me it was self-defeating to think of myself as needy, I was deprived. Then they told me underpriviledged was overused, I was disadvantaged. I still don't have a dime, but I have a great vocabulary.β
or
βAt sixteen I was stupid, confused and indecisive. At twenty-five I was wise, self-confident, prepossessing and assertive. At forty-five I am stupid, confused, insecure and indecisive. Who would have supposed that maturity is only a short break in adolescence?β

Careful Brad, you know you're treading close with that one. Especially here in the general section. As it was I offended a couple of people just with the Jules Feiffer quote that you'll have to look up yourself. Hint ; it's the only one usually listed that makes any reference at all to Jesus. As I mentioned, I had no intent to offend or inflame, but merely to induce chuckles or a slight smile. Hell, had I shown any of his cartoons from the Nixon era, I would've really gotten things going, LOL! And that, I would've known beforehand to only post in the controversy cage.????

Thanks Brad........ I about fell out of my chair and I got diet coke all over my screen! Even after finding a Higher Power than myself over 35 years ago my God would think that is funny. Not for everyone I can understand but for me, That's some funny sh!t.......

personally I liked the quote. actually had to read it a few times to get the full meaning. But did not think it was offensive at all but then I have skin thicker than raw hide.

Pretty stagnant lately.
Just wait until someone brings up the recent figures on the nation's defecit and/or consumer confidence.
-
Is it the quote about sins? Jeez, that doesn't bother me much, some jokes are just funny, others are meant to piss someone off, which the offender finds funny. One needs to turn the other cheek. Come to think of it, Jesus would have needed a well developed sense of humor just to survive.

Well, a real discussion of this in much more detail would require relocation, as it obviously rankled some, and we try to keep things friendly.
So as it is, we all know where we stand, and it's now water under the bridge.
