I have a nice Douthitt exposure unit and now we are getting into pad printing. Can I use
that for making plates or do I really need a UV light source? If anyone has done it, care to
share exposure times? Tips?

It will work just fine. I use a 3000watt Nuarc flip-top, but my Olec 8000 watt and wall hung vacuum frame would work too, it would just take longer.
Don't forget your 1/2 tone film for all images, 200LPI 90% or 300LPI 80% is what we use on our metal, acid etch plates.

What about ordering them in?.....In the short term it might be a way to get started....

We bought a new 4 color press so for now, it's just R&D. I have done some manual
work before with an el-chepo press and an OLD UV exposure unit. Just need to be able
to do everything right in-house. Thanks for the responses guys. Any idea what the exposure
time would be? I think the Douthitt will be about the same as an Olec.
