Title: Index cylinder leaking around shaft

Today my M&R Gauntlet index cylinder started leaking air around where the shaft goes into the housing of the cylinder, not having seen this problem before, i assume the cylinder needs replaced. Correct me if I am wrong in my thinking. I have in weeks prior noticed that I have excessive oil in the mufflers on the bottom of the cylinder.

sounds like an o-ring has become brittle and cracked inside or the shaft oil seal has done the same.  As it leaks, it allows a constant flow of oil-misted air that will build up just like you stated.

contact service, i do believe those cylinders are rebuildable with just a few o-rings, an oil seal and some of your time.
