Title: Rutland M3 Scale
Post by: Maxie on March 09, 2015, 01:12:53 AM
i am about to start using the M3 mixing system.
I see that the mixing program can link directly to a scale.
Is this necessary? Are there iadvantages to doing this?
I can get a cheaper scale without the computer connection.

See if your supplier will work with you to get a free scale and sign a scale agreement for it.  Supplier would pay 50% / ink manu. would pay the other 50%.

I'm in Israel, no such deal.
I am buying a scale, the question is should it link to a computer?
Is there a advantage to having this link?

Auto body and paint shops often have used sartorious scales for a fraction of new.  I love the one we have.  Consider one scale for full quarts and up another for small amounts of ink that reads to the second decimal place.

Wait,  if m3 is an rfu system then read out to tenths is fine no need for second scale,  that comes into play more with pc systems

Hi There,
We use all day this,

We got the #'s from the Rutland website (OMX Color Mixing Calculator) and sometimes we mix up to a gallon.
