I just got a 5 of quick that I hate. It is so thin. I just ran a manual job with it and I had to P/F/P/F/P to get a 100% white. Its so thin that I can easily push my mixer to the bottom of the bucket. It penetrates the shirt easily. I mixed it good and the bottom is just as thin.
Is this a bad bucket or what...
-
I noticed our last fives were thin as well. But it is warm here.
-
This is really thin. I haven't used quick for about 6 months. Has it changed that much. I will up load a video. I have never been able to easily mix a 5 like this one.
-
Thanks for making me worry, guys. I just ordered a drum of it this morning. Last batch was so thick we're scooping ink (on autos) about every 15 prints. Thank God for ink traps. I was hoping for better flow, but not what you're talking about.

Here is the video.

yeah, I can't get to the bottom of our buckets like that...you need to check with wilflex and your supplier
-
Oh perfect I better check the 3 - 5's we got out there.

We had lots of issues with quick white over the last several months that we ditched it......Like you guys are seeing it was all over the place for us. I have gone through 40 gallons of ICC white in the last 2 weeks and it's been super consistent.
-
wilflex isn't supposed to have these problems...it's why we pay more for it.
-
Ya its pretty expensive to have issues.
-
That makes no sense. Mine is almost TOO thick...but I buy Quick in gallons. It'd take me 6 months to get through a fiver.
Danny, which ICC white are you referring to? I've heard good things about 711.

Some grumbling from our back room about quick white also, we were thinking seasonal temp change but our furnace is still coming on at night, so it has not warmed up that much.
We use about 5 gal every 2 weeks or so, the one we just opened has a mfg date of 10/8/14 & batch #4977722.
Does this match up with anybody else's numbers?

I have a batch on press right now from 10/16/2014 and it's fine.

My bucket, the one in the video, is lot 5043979 MFG Date 2/17/15
I just ordered a 5 of ICC legacy white. DannyGruninger is that the white your using

I have been using the ICC 711 for 20+ years. Are there better choices? Maybe, but this is what I know and works for me in my shop.
Best of luck,
Bill

Good to know. I am a little worried about that white but I couldnt order quick again and risk the same thing. I would of ordered SF2 but I want to get away from the puff in it. Just too much puff. Does Legacy have puff like quick (none)...

Legacy does not puff at all....... For fiber mat down I feel its far superior to quick white. It is as opaque as most anything I have seen, we just have to tweak it slightly to get it to work the way we want. I've used around 60 gallons of legacy white in the last couple months and I prefer it over quick white(I used quick for 5+ years)

Hey guys ... I hate to hear of these issues. Quick White is a top selling white for Wilflex (and for us as their distributor). Minimal complaints come our way.
The complaint with lot number should really go to Wilflex. They can be reached at techserviceswilflex@polyone.com. Or 1-800-326-0226. Or if anyone wants to IM or email me their lot # and complaint, I will be happy to forward whether or not you purchased the product from Nazdar SourceOne or another distributor.
-
yeargh. That is clearly an off batch of ink. Either that or it's 110 degrees in your shop.
We've never had a consistency issue with Quick. Consistency is why we use Wilflex. Otherwise, as mentioned, why pay so much? I'm not looking forward to when we get into our next 5 now.

This is being taken care of. I don't want to say were it come from just to not hurt any distributor.

I used Quick since it first came out until about a year ago I tried Legacy, not looking back at all.
-
If anyone wants to try out the legacy white just PM me for a sample.
