I am more in tune with the following listing from the package
 
Calcium disodium EDTA added to protect flavor
If you ask me this stuff is doing a lousy job!

technically garlic can fall in under natural flavor or spice

Sure... but you wouldn't put a picture of a business card on your brochure as the main feature and then mention that you print "Shirts, hats, koozies, bags, pens, flyers, brochures, and other cool things". :)
