As i recall from the last show there was a sign that said no picture taking. But one could act like he is getting a call on the cell and accidentally take some.

Nothing too nefarious, Pierre was hoping to see the shirts entered in the competition.

On Second thought I will not , I appear to be trying to skirt the law with all my posting today. I'm actually an honest law abiding citizen.

Anyone openly taking photo's that are harmless to the company being photo'd I have no problem with although the show people will. Taking photo's to copy someones design or product I do have a problem with. At last years SGAI show a Chinese company rented booth space so their employees could be in the show before and after hours to take photo's of our equipment. They were caught by us and thrown out of the show. They are now banned under that name but I am sure they will show up under another! Sound familiar? That should not be allowed!

How much of that is paranoia?  I mean, I can remember anybody who questioned Scott F. would be accused of being a thief or of working for the competition.  The classic was the T-jet debacle.  The charts on his own site all had different numbers and when questioned about that, he would accuse everybody of working for Brother or Flexi-Jet.  It was nuts.

I am not trying to debunk your story Rich, I've just seen booths where people wanting to get to know anything about presses or equipment have their motives called out.  If I am going to drop serious coin on anything, I like to know it inside and out BEFORE the purchase.

We have people shoot video and photo's all the time if we know who and why. Even our factory is open to any customer to shoot anything they want as long as its not in our skunks room. I have personally told every visitor to our factory if you have a camera you are welcome to use it. No paranoia here. Just stating the facts. You are welcome to visit and bring a camera!

That is good to hear.  I imagine when you've been doing this a while, you can pick out the troublemakers...just like I can do that with customers...sometimes.

I agree with 244 (who ever this guy is..I know who he is)

I think copying a design, machine or any product should not be allowed in any industry. A company spends years figuring out their idea for a product. It costs thousand or even millions. Then when it goes to market and does will in a month or two there are 3 knockoffs. I hate that the court system has to be the one that judges copyright laws. It takes too long to punish these f#$ks. I think if you get caught for copying you should be done. You do it again and you’re in Jail for life.

But you'd have to have international laws, and that just AIN'T gonna happen.

International is not our problem and we cannot control that. If it breaks our (us) copyright it does not get sold here. If they ship a bunch of the knockoffs here they get distroyed. If you are caught selling them here you go to jail. Is this not the way the law is? Why does it take so long in Court to inforce it? Why do we turn our heads to everything? America needs to stop tucking its balls between its legs because they my offend someone.  Sorry its been on of those days.

Taking photo's of American equipment and then duplicating the equipment for manufacturing and sale by a foreign company should be put in jail for espionage and treason (if it could be proven).

This is getting too close to the reason that this forum was started. I am not taking sides on that situation. I am talking about copying and knockoffs in general. I think that the company that came up with the idea should not have to work so hard to protect its products. They should be able to just sell that product and move on to make another product to sell. I am sure there is a ton of products that would make our life’s a lot easier already created. We just have to wait for the company to get all the paper work and protection stuff done and oked by the slowest department of our country. I love my country I just wish people would stop screwing it up.
