Title: head not printing at start of print
Post by: Croft on May 05, 2015, 11:51:17 AM
we've had an issue for a while but some days seem worse than others , its a 2005 sportsman air machine, The print head will shuttle out to print but the chopper won't bring the sqeege down ?   If we cycle it a few times it will then
work and seems fine after that, sometimes it won't print after a break sometimes it will?. Both prix switches light up and the air is clean. If I press the small red button on the valve the chopper will fire fine?
Anyone else have this problem and a solution
Thanks

Sticky valve likely, the button is a manual over-ride. Swap with another on the machine or replace it and if
it's not bad you have a spare.

can you see if your light on the front proxy sensor is lit when it shuttles forward? if it's not you may need to re-adjust it or make sure the sensor is still good. I've had a couple come lose and do this, quick fix.

I'll give that a try , I wasn't sure that if it worked with the red button that meant the switch was good.

Sounds like the valve needs replaced that you are pushing the red button on. It seems to have burnt oil on the poppet and that is why it is sticking. Not repairable due to this so replace.

Thanks for the response , just so I know this is the Valve you are referring to.

With SMC find out the valve body part # (usually first 4 digits of part) and just replace that, swap all the fittings off
the old one. Way faster and less expensive than waiting for a custom configured product, which is just the size
of the ports and electrical entrance, etc. Bodies are all the same.

You should be able to swap out the valve with another one and see if the problem follows the valve. Just a FYI

the head that you use for flashing is a perfect valve to swap with it... ;)

(just be sure to order a replacement up)
