We usually run our metallic inks through 90 mesh statics, but now that we have our pin system running at full speed I'd like to get some mesh on rollers for that purpose. Anybody using S-Mesh for metallics, and if so what count are you using?
Thank youuuuuu.

Like Pierre said: S Thread or LX Thread will do the trick. You find the mesh count that you enjoy best.
I know shops that go up to 150 LX for metallics. I would probably stay at 135 or lower myself.

Yup, all great advice. And water base metallics rule the day :)

What type of metallic?
For us:
WFX Shimmers 90/71
WFX Liquids can run up to 150/48 or even higher, depending on the desired look.
Brandon loves the Matsui metallic but we had a pretty rough time with the couple gallons we tried. It seems likely they were off batches though. My choice to continue with plastisol metallics was based off the fact that the finished print felt about the same between the two so we stick with the reliable plastis. The WFX Liquids give a finish I haven't seen from any other ink system and have been the go-to here for a few years.
Pierre that 80/55 is crazy open. I think we have a panel of it here that we never used as the 90/71 gets it done without being crazy delicate. I think the 80/55 is actually an "SS" mesh.

We have done Wilflex liquid silver on 180-48 and 225-48 and as low as 150-48.
For other brands metallics, like Union I would stick with anything from 120-150-S mesh.
