Title: Waterbased as ubase for blended shirts? anybody done it?
Post by: blue moon on May 12, 2015, 04:17:02 PM
we have more and more customers looking for soft hand prints on blended shirts and are at a loss when they are not 100% cotton. Has anybody here used regular waterbased inks to discharge plastisol?

You have me confused here. How do you mean? Like a plasticharge?

Yes. A bit confused too. Are we talking DC/UB on blends?

i feel like Pierre was asking if you can use WB as an UB, to make the print brighter, but still soft.

We do it. Charcoal NL 6210's that are 60/40 work especially well with it.

Yes. 50/50's, triblends, more. Depends on client and the design

Try using all water base.  There are many systems that have bleed blockers, you won't have to worry about discharging and the final result is very smooth, with little deposit.

Had a Permaset rep come by last week and I was somewhat impressed.  I won't go into all the detail on our meeting but I've got some samples coming in and will start a thread about the testing.

I was interested in using their waterbased white as a base and plastisols on top.  He showed me sample of that type of printing on several types of garments and I loved the look and feel.
