Title: SanMar's PosiCharge Technologies. Anybody printing them?
Post by: Itsa Little CrOoked on June 01, 2015, 02:17:01 PM
So I've got to run a set of softball team jersies TODAY.

One color White on a lime-ish green.

They are SanMar's PosiCharge and they aren't supposed to bleed.

They've been out almost a year, yet I can't find a thread on TSB.

Anybody have advice, ink, temp, direct print as opposed to transfers etc??

Thanks!
Stan

I've seen some posicharge bleed. . . print them as regular poly and you'll be OK!

I've got some better stuff from One Stroke (ELT??) on the way, but I printed this job with Wilflex Epic Performance with 3% viscosity buster.

Hasn't sublimated yet, but I've seen it happen several days after printing. I was aiming for 290ยบ but went a little over.

We'll see.

I dislike printing on all this weird stuff, but if my choice is between making money printing and NOT making money because of turning down the jobs, the choice is pretty easy.

My rep said they can't bleed and the followed that up with telling me to print with a poly ink (like Production White from one stroke).  ::)

I have been printing the st350's with Union's Diamond White for almost 6 months now with no bleed issues (curing between 325 and 335 using the gas dryer in the tunnel of 1 minute).  I have not done any of the neon colors yet with the white ink but have had success on many of the "normal" colors.  I just ran 650 fronts and backs on Maroon with no issues, and have done the lime with great success.

They've been discussed here before, and I think I even posted this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9Im-x6yHks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9Im-x6yHks)

They claim, "We don't need your steenkin' poly inks!

I guess I just stink at search.

Good video. Thanks for posting it Andy!

I'd LOVE to print cotton ink on these!!

The Epic Performance White +3% Viscosity Buster did...um....okay I suppose, but I'm still uncomfortable with my auto when printing more challenging inks/garments. I don't have any of that familiar feedback from the squeegee if the ink isn't "happy".  But its getting better.

Thanks for the responses.

The Epic Performance White +3% Viscosity Buster

careful with the Viscosity Buster and the Performance White... Wilflex recommends 1% max....
you can get ink that won't cure, or requires a much longer dwell time in the dryer, as Viscosity Buster is just raw plasticizer.

I searched while on the Forum page, no special section.
The previous time they came up, they weren't the main topic of discussion, but rather just a suggestion of Dri Fit in Blanks

I didn't know that.  3% didn't sound like a lot (my sales rep said 3-5%!!!!!), but I can probably get into that 1% range with power mixing. I sure hope that job doesn't come back.

Thanks Jason!

We've printed thousands of these and at first we used poly ink but now I'm using a low-bleed mix (our cotton and 50/50 white) and they hold up great.  You have to be careful though, some styles aren't posicharge that you think would be, so double check before you print to make sure they are.
