Title: Fonts will not load...
Post by: jason-23 on June 02, 2015, 01:35:54 PM
Hey guys, Ive been having a problem lately with fonts when downloading from sites like Dafont.com. If I download a font and it goes to my download folder, I can unzip, extract but it will not load to my fonts folder and I cant even cut and copy to desktop or nothing. I've tried everything and ran a malware scan with no problem found. Any help would be great,TIA.

What operating system are you running?  How exactly are you installing the fonts (exact step by step after extracting the zip to a folder)?

Check out 7-Zip from http://sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzip/ (http://sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzip/)

It's open source and comes with 4 and 5 star ratings (out of 5)

I'm sure I don't have to say this, but you need to be careful when downloading fonts.  Those dam sites have been tucking in what looks to be download buttons for font downloads, but is instead software to manage fonts and God knows what else.  Sometimes you have to look all over their web pagesto find the 'real' font download.  If it's going to download an executable file (.exe), back out and keep on looking.

If you lost your zip software, I'm suspect already.

Maybe step one should be a system restore to back when you could still unzip
