Ha! I live12 miles to the beach here in Jacksonville. Go to the beach every weekend.  8)  Don't
forget your shades. Supposed to be 93 today. Heat index 105. Used to go to Daytona every other
weekend but it's too crowded now (I must be getting old)..

it was damn near empty last week, our schools let out earlier than tennessee and s. carolina, so the crowds were light.

Most days we were the only folks at the pool.

Lived at the beach for 15 years. 1.600 sf  upstars 3 bedroom apartment from which
we could see the ocean. Only moved inland after it got LOUD at night and had 3
tropical storms/hurricanes go through in one year.

Lived on Saint Thomas across from Coki Point for 2 ys. Got boring plus the natives get loud and restless at night

yeah, I am not a fan of crowds..funny thing is my daughter preferred fishing in the ponds to the beach or pool.

so now I am looking at buying a boat...again.

I live on Da Beach as well... (Spring Beach subdivision on the Fox River) ;)  It's a freshwater river and we have the boat about 50 feet from the back door.

surprisingly, it's a lot louder here in the winter due to all the snowmobiles on the ice than it is during the summer.

(we also have a neighborhood bar/clubhouse that we drive golfcarts to)

We are on our last full day of a weeks vacation in Outer Banks, NC. Splittin a big house with six other close-knit families, reality-show style. Its just plain AWESOME here. Weather has been absolutely perfect. Already booked again for next year too.

Contrary to what the upside-down pic implies, I am not too drunk to operate the camera. More accurately, too dumb to operate the forum features. Froggyman, how do I fix/please fix. Thanks buddy!!

It's not always fun and games at the beach... This is just a little tropical storm. 12
miles in, we only got wind and a little rain. The newer house across the street from
where we used to live lost it's roof.

I hope the weather holds out for you homie. This past week has been huge storms every day in the state, especially central. Big one coming in over us right now from the Orlando area.

beach? Pffft . . . I lived on the ship for three years! No walking necessary to jump into sewer polluted harbor, only 3 days of quarantine and a handful of shots (probably penicillin).

And, when the weather was bad, the ship pitched 20 degrees and rolled 90. I used to walk on the bulkheads when the weather was bad!

I worked on 300 footer for about 2 years. I loved having to put a wet towel on  the table to keep dinner from sliding away. Good times! At least the captain would lets us drop a line from the stern once in a while. I live in FL. We are 3 miles from the beach. I don't go the beach enough but I love it when I do...

About 9 miles away from a couple of real nice beaches in Westport, MA and 20 minutes away from Newport, RI. I wanted a beach house but the flood insurance made it not an affordable option. I usually take a quick dip every night or two during the summer. Probably a couple more weeks before the water is warm enough up here.

Funny, even as a kid, the beach didn't hold much appeal. I'm Scottish/English super white, burn and peel, no tan. I did like the girls there though!

oh I go from pasty white to bright pink in no time.  I don't care for the beach that much either, but my wife does.

Sounds like you have been to Subic Bay. I spent a year over at Cubi Point.
