Title: Google scam.
Post by: Dottonedan on July 16, 2015, 02:45:57 PM
Had a Co with a Fl number call me to "classify" and confirm my google business address. So I say ok. I know Google doesn't charge for just registering your business on Google. So he asked a few questions to confirm and I answer and then he slips in ...and that is at the 299 rate etc.  I say hold on there big fella.
Are you saying 299 as in $299.00 he says yes. I say oh, I see, click.

These folks are barely better than the folks who offer (and charge) to apply for a Social Security number for your new-born.
At least the Google thing provides a smidgen of SEO

Google doesn't call people out of the blue. Doesn't happen.  I think every business in the world gets these calls a few times a week.

LOL.  We get that call every other day..... Always when I am already doing like two things at once too.  I hate Sharon.

She knows you people too???  And here I thought she didn't have anything better to do than call me several times a week.  Suddenly I feel crushed and insecure.

My favourite response to these calls is "I don't need any SEO work, but can I interest you in 50 tee shirts?!" Then I try to sell them some tees.

I figure if I can make that sale,  my salesmanship is firing on all cylinders.

I've yet to get that sale... but they seem to be calling less these days!
