Our M&R tech did a machine check up a couple of month ago. He changed the servo setting to +4 at the END setting and as well close to +4 at the START setting. Last week we noticed that the pallets started to vibrate again a lot when the carousel moves into the up position. Today I did the servo adjustments, now we are at 0 at the END and -2 in the START settings. How do these significant changes in values happen over such a short period of time, is there anything I have to look out for to avoid this?

I run into the same issue on our sportsman. I've never messed with the start setting only the end because it only makes it more confusing. I start at zero after a center shaft greasing and then adjust gradually to -3. When it starts shuttering after I set it to -3, I pop out the old grease gun. I do wish it wouldn't happen so often though. On a 1000 piece run, I'll change it a couple of times usually.
I'm happy with everything about the sportsman except that. I would too like to know if that is normal.

couple of things could be going on. Voltage fluctuations in your shop or not following the lube maintenance schedule. Make sure you are lining under the plate by the lift cylinders as well.

Voltage fluctuations in your shop
Thank you for this.. this explains a LOT. (our shop voltage was so low we had to install buck boost... but I still see voltage swings of 6-8 volts during the day depending on what the other units in our building are doing)... and I've always wondered why sometimes we have the shudder and sometimes not.

Thanks, I'll have to look into that. I do grease it quite often so that may be the problem.

So how about the Index Cam Follower Bearings? When they sit inside the Index Clevis should that be a tight fit or is there any room for movement? On our press I can slightly move the carousel left or right when in the down position. It`s not much of a movement but still noticeable.

clean the grease off the inside of the capture and run your finger on both of the inside walls. If indented replace it. If it's still smooth you should be good to go.
