Title: Discharge on Garment-Dyed shirts?
Post by: redwoodtees on August 02, 2015, 03:13:19 PM
I am a newbie.. I have not worked with garment-dyed shirts yet. Will 100% cotton garment-dyed shirts discharge well? Any good or bad experiences with specific brands?

Thanks

Chris

If you're dealing with Comfort Colors, the only ones that will discharge (some do ok, some don't at all) are the reactive-dyed colors, which should be separated on your swatch card if you have one. They're a pretty thick and nappy texture to print on, so you'll have to do a bit of playing around to get your process down for them.

The full pigment dyed ones will basically laugh at you if you try to discharge them.

as mentioned, the color is going to determine what works and what doesnt.  Most colors will not work, some will...just have to test.
