I'm looking to buy an used press . I have found barely used Geo Knight DK16 that is reasonably priced. Less than year old for $600
Is that worth the money?

not sure if it is worth the money, but I have purchased two different used presses for less than $250 each. We only use them about every other week and they do just fine for that. Pretty sure you could get away with something cheaper than $600.
I would get something with a timer and thermometer.

I have a couple of Knight presses, and they are good quality, and have good tech help. Also, it's close to my 60% of new price when in great shape rule. The only thing I'd say is a 16x20 is more useful. That said, I often use my old 15x15 Insta.

It is a semi local person and I would be able to go and take a look at the press. He said that he bought it as a temporary replacement for his swing away press that needed to be fixed. He said that he would rather sell it that keep it there collecting dust as a back-up press.
I thing that he might go for $500.

Craigslist can be a good source for heat presses. Make sure it heats edge to edge.
Unless you're doing a ton of pressing, don't go crazy with a fancy shmancy model unless you really need it.
I use mine for team names and numbers and to press a screen print occasionally for a cool rubber effect.

Shipping shouldn't be too bad. Maybe $40. I am not going to gouge you on that.

Go for it Dennis, MK's offer that is. Like Andy said, Knight is good, great support. I gave away a 35 year old one last year, and it still worked great. It's just that I picked up a much much nicer one for $500, which was a bargain for a $1700 press. You'll need some silicone sheets and pillows and some other accessories too to make it a little easier to work...

they help even up the surface when you have seams or other minor obstructions.

like buttons on golf shirts, almost any "bump" in the fabric, it sinks down into the pillow when you press, leaving the top surface flat.

I got this DK16 for $500.
Going to pick it up. This one goes good with my business DK16 and DKgrafix.

Got home with the press. It is a brand new press that was barely used, no scratches or any damage on it, not even the dust :)
MK, thanks for the offer, but I could not wait any more to see the pics and to get more info on your presses. I was afraid that this press would be sold, and if I did not like yours, I would end up short on both ends. I could not pass on basically new press at 50% off.
