Title: Epson 9000?
Post by: mimosatexas on September 15, 2015, 11:30:11 AM
Found an Epson 9000 that is still in daily use for $100.  Anyone used one of these for printing films?

It looks like accurip supports the 4000 and the 7000 but not the 9000 for some reason.  Same with filmmaker.  Any idea if you can "force" it to work?

Used two of them for years when doing flatstock. Great printers, huge films obviously.
Most RIP mfgs try and upsell you on different versions for larger printers. We used Ghostscript
and RedMon with a generic epson driver. The fact is, nearly all Epsons we're interested in use the
same language, EPL/2, so aside from print limitations the drivers are the same.

For 100 bucks it may make a good film machine but only prints at 720dpi and it's slow.
