Around the heat chambers of our used dryer purchase, there was a combination of fire rated caulking (which we've scraped off and cleaned) and then this heat barrier stripping, which we'd prefer to leave on until we know of where to find some more of it. It's much nicer than the caulking, but I'm struggling to find anything like it on the nets. Any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

M&R sells it you also need high temp silicon adhesive
-
Yep. M&R sells it by the roll. In the pic it didn't look very bad, but now's the time to do it. The chalky red stuff is the high temp silicon adhesive. You should be able to get that at an auto parts store. NAPA sells it.

we used the 100s strip n stick before - didnt work too well. the adhesive didnt stick very well and the silicone sponge fell off onto the shirts. we ended up using the R10470M. or use an RTV adhesive with the strip n stick.

Ahh, that's interesting to note. Definitely gonna get adhesive for whatever type of gasket strip we end up going with. Thanks Zelko!

it could have been our prep - saint gobain recommended us to clean with acetone. here is a reply from one of their sales reps when i described what happened to their product:
"I think you have the correct product as it is rated up to 500F. Next time pay more attention to cleaning the surface first to remove old adhesive and any other particulate. I think using Acetone to clean surface would work best"
