Title: 17" Film Printer
Post by: farmboygraphics on October 03, 2015, 05:58:18 AM
My 3000 that I had refurbed not to long ago crapped out at the end of the day Friday. So I'll be going in today to see if I can cobble something together with parts. Just wondering what others are using to print 17" films.

Epson 4900

Why does this printer weigh 114 lbs? Does it have a solid steel frame? :-)

Find the least expensive 4800, 4880, 7600, 7800, 7880, 9600, 9800, 9880 etc you can find. The 3800 also works but not with rolls. I have always seen bad reviews of the _9__ series printers.

My advice is to avoid the 4900.  We have one and it CONSTANTLY clogs.
It is currently clogged and even a $600 unclog kit hasn't fixed it.

3800, not roll fed. We run 13 x 19 and 17 x 22 with it...

I can confirm this, it clogs all the time even though we keep it printing every day. still works tho
