Post by: jrbestinknthread on October 14, 2015, 10:33:06 AM
Well Just a update about Don Fenno he has not live up to his word on paying me back from the money he took from me on a machine he claim that he was selling its been over 5 months now i think he feels like i forgot but i will still continue to warn people about this crook he will try to sell you a machine and you pay him upfront but don't fall for that lie or if he is buying equipment from you make sure you get fully paid before letting anything go he is not to be trusted at all he sounds and people say he is honest but he is only good at one thing and that is to scam people out of money he took $63,000 from us and now i am sure he is doing it to someone else...

please don't trust this guy you are welcome to call me with any question's you might have about him before you fall for his scam...Thanks for taking the time to check out this add.. and for Don Fenno i know you might read this since you don't answer our calls or call back just remember i will not stay quite about this it is pretty hard to forget about this much amount of money..
And for the record it was Steve Vermillion that recomended him to us...

Maybe the big man Rich Hoffman can see where that serial numbered machine is physically located and who owns it right now so maybe they can give us their side of the story too on whether they were actually selling it. If this has already been discussed, disregard. Your claim seems valid. Only thing missing may be a wire transfer receipt? Hell, post some more evidence so we can all Judge Judy this case!

Have you contacted the police and/or a lawyer?  Certainly this amount of money has to be a major crime.

I dont understand how someone allows 63k to go missing and just only post on the internet about it.  Please tell me that's not the case here.

....and I don't understand how you take someone's word for it, sign a contract and wire 60k to someone without laying eyes on it. spend another 2k and fly out to see it first...trust no one. If I buy something used, it's coming with me when I leave.

I would never buy used equipment from a broker, let alone one I hadn't seen run and touched/felt in person and no way would I give them 90% down on such. Set up a escrow account or other measures to ensure the deal goes your way.

I seriously don't get how this happened either.  I sure as freak wouldn't give "some guy" $63,000 without the press being in my possession (on my trailer or verified to be crated and on a truck headed my way) and having been tested in my presence.  A small retainer, maybe...

I also don't get why this hasn't been "resolved" through the courts.  You can't take $63k from someone without getting in legal trouble of some kind.

I know most of you haven't trusted someone with that much money but we do put trust in others every single day to some degree and I wouldn't be too hard on this guy for simply trusting that another human being wouldn't so blatantly steal $63K.  With that amount of money it's almost easier to trust someone with this type of transaction more than one for a few thousand, at least in my opinion.  You'd think with that sum of money that nobody who has made a living in this industry and that capacity could have done so by stealing even a few times.  Although I'd have made different decisions if this were my transaction I think too much of the blame is being put on the OP and I don't think it's right to kick this guy in the face when he's just been robbed of $63K.  These crooks do just enough good so they can get their foot in the door and this particular D-bag has been selling used equipment for longer than most of us have been in the industry.  Many of you are asking how the hell this could have happened but trust me, it's not as simple and that difficult to be had by a good crook.  They are good at what they do just like most of us are good at what we do.

Before I got into screen printing I was in a biz where trust and a good hand shake was a contract and I've seen not only 63K get gone but 100K to 200K get gone.  The sad thing is our laws can't do much about getting it back for you if that person has spend it or what ever with it, my insurance agent many years ago took a bunch of us for over 320K and skipped town and you know how much of all those monthly payments I got back ZERO!!!!!!!

I'm kinda feeling like Alan I think. This guy got royally F$%%^ed. He's trying to help others not fall into the same trap he did. A lot of us are berating him for what he did. If you don't think he's kicked himself in the ass harder than anyone here is, think again. Let's try to stop beating down the beaten. Personally, if I can do anything to help him I will. I don't know him from Adam. But I'd love to stop an a$$hole from screwing anyone else. We all make mistakes. Some bigger than others. I think it took balls to step up and say, "Hey, I screwed up. Please don't do what I did" Let's be try to help in some way instead of saying "How could you?" He's asked himself that question a thousand times. Just my thoughts

I just want to call things like this to the front for next guy to be informed. The OP needs to sue this guy and go after him legally, that is a lot of money. Period.

70k press, used, random broker referral or not. Go see/feel/touch the equipment. Google around their name, their business name, facebook them, look up his family, etc. I found things about this guy in no time. It's a reoccurring theme in this industry with brokers and they seem to get away with it and if we start educating people on how to not have it likely happen to them it would be a great thing.

We should all start calling this guy and asking him when he's going to return this guys money.

when is he going to return the money? when he sells the next machine to an unsuspecting soul and doesn't deliver.

I would agree Dave if this was a restaurant with terrible reviews and you blew 20.00 on a shittty meal, hey you gave them a chance. but this is 60k...A hand shake and verbal used to mean something, but in today's society it's just a distraction while the other hand dips in your pocket.

I did not mean to let this issue fall out of site. I just meant the OP feels like crap. He doesn't need us reaffirming his mistake. Offering to spread the word, and help him if possible is all I was trying to say. Someone just suggested to me that next time Fenno calls asking what I have for sale, I tell him my press for 63,000, pre pay. Then pass the money along to OP. Got me thinking .

The trouble with violence in deals like this is you end up being the one sued. Today's society is a bunch of sissy's.

The only thing I don't see in the road trip pic is the guy dangling from a bunge cord playing the guitar.
