2012 challenger 3, 12/14
for under $40k.
it wasn't me, but man, that's so cheap.
:o

I went and looked it over, sucker was CLEAN for New buffalo...excellent shape. nice deals going on here.
-
Damn they stole that thing at that price.
Anyone know the reasoning behind them shutting down? I never would've guessed they'd close up shop like that.
-
The formula presses sold for $10k.

From what I remember Gildan bought them and moved them.

I wish I was closer. I would have liked to take a closer look at some of the things there.
-
I know all about the NBNY debacle (Dave Gardner was here recently) but can't really post publicly. Typical corporate nonsense.
-
Dave, I'm 20 minutes away, I would have looked at stuff for you. I was there a few times poking around. lots of cool toys. A few lots ago, they sold these genius squeegie cleaners, you put the squeegie in vertically and it spun around like a washing machine. One of a kind item.
The few fellas I spoke to from Gildan/New Buffalo were awesome guys, Dave Gardner was one of them. Humble guy.
-
So Gildan buys NB for 7 million and sells everything for pennies on the dollar so they don't have to move it to SC when they open up shop? I assume they're getting all new gear Tony? New location bigger or smaller than NB?
-
i hopefully made a good score for a screen coater...but we'll find out soon
-
That would have been a great deal!

I Looked at it, it was in great shape, I was going to bid on that you sucker! great price.
-
They aren't moving here
-
Isn't it all going to central America?
-
No
-
Tony can you give a hint to where they are moving?

Even with a lot of imprints (presumably) that is a screaming deal on a challenger III.
So how do you bid on this stuff? I'm on the bidspotter site but not totally sure how they would work out freight, etc.
-
Looks like the Honduras unless something has changed...

it's just about over, but typically you just bid, and then you have to find someone to tear it down, and freight for you, unless you go there and do it yourselves.
We bought a screen coater, and a drum of texcharge activator! for pennies.

Yeah looks like I missed the party. It's cool just looking at the setups used by a shop this large. I love the double bay, super vented reclaim booths.

Need this kind of crap to happen in Texas! lol...

in all the years i've been looking, i've only seen 3 print shop auctions in Texas. One of them we scored a really really beat up Sprint international, for $1500. we use it everyday!
-
Ive seen some in arkansas and kansas etc, but not here. I'm still sad I wasn't looking for a one armed bandit when you were selling one. One popped up recently in arlington, but it was a little too big (5x12 table) and he wanted too much for it (in my opinion).
-
That is quite the deal and I can understand why no one posted that auction and kept it to themselves ahead of time...
I did manage to get a 12/14 CH3 for a good price(70K) 2 years ago but it was pretty used (5mil imprints almost), had to spend quite a bit on new parts for it and still working out a couple small kinks but it was worth it.
When we have to move again I almost want to just replace both of our presses instead of moving them...the option will definitely be weighed out...it would reduce downtime for sure, so maybe it would just be for one of the presses. /end of sidetracking
