We've just bought refillable carts and are planning to fill them (8/11) with cleaning solution (3/11 with black ink). Our problem is what do we do with the ink currently in the lines? Should we just put the cartridges in and forget about it or make deep fills until we have only cleaning solution in the lines?

I seem to recall flushing the lines with cleaning fluid when I set up our 4800, it's only cleaning fluid, pretty cheap to make sure you have a clean channel to go to if your Black starts to give you trouble...

it's not the cleaning fluid I'm worried about, I got plenty of that, it's the maintenance boxes, will need to buy new ones if I'm flushing

reset them and pull the pads out and put paper towels in there. I used to do it all the time.

Don't mean to high jack this thread but when refillable cartridges are showing almost Mt and they are full are really close to it. How do you get the printer 4800 to recognize that they are full?

maybe try a chip resetter?

So, cartridges have been changed and problems are still there. Now we got 2 carts that tend not to be recognized (we have to get them in and out several times to be recognized). Hate this printer!!
