Title: Color Theory

Having a color wheel was really helpful for mixing at the beginning. After
awhile you tend to get a feel for it, and can look at a color and be able to tell
what it needs to make the desired color.

Certain colors are the worst for matching though. Browns come to mind. Pinks have
been tough too. Got a shelf full of oddball pinks.

I had about 30 web links at one time bookmarked on color theory but after shifting browsers so many times, they were lost.

I took some art theory and art ed courses in college 80 years ago.. was pretty put out me being as smart as I was and all that this goofy instructor had us cut up about 200 little 2 inch squares of watercolor paper and glue them together in strips.. then we mixed water colors from every primary to the next.. took I think about 48 squares to go from one to the other.. I lost them several years  back but boy did they teach you how to mix ink.. Love that teacher now.. but as old as I am He is probably long dead..

That's pretty much how I learned it. Having the basic understanding really helps solve problems when they arise, as opposed to just flailing away in the dark hoping to hit something. I've seen and been in many a conversation where the details are mixed up. Reminds me a little of everyone using DPI when talking about pixels, which should be PPI (DPI is printer resolution). Of course it's become so common that we all know what the meaning is.
