Title: foil transfers
Post by: ericheartsu on January 07, 2016, 04:05:54 PM
We just got asked to do some heat pressing at an event, but they want to do silver and gold foil!

Is it possible to pre-print foil adhesive transfers, apply them to the garment, then foil them?

Haven't done this, but it should be easy enough.  Print your transfers using the foil adhesive or even just clear base or tinted base.  Heat apply the transfer, then heat apply the foil.  It should work fine, but I would test in house first.

I have done it by printing the adhesive to the foil and then applying. Have a look at this link...*edit:sorry wrong link, I'll find it for you and post ...

Could not find the link, best I can do is pic from one of my old Union books...

Okay I did find it in an old thread.

The application temp/time and pressure for the transfer press is different from my pic.

375 degrees @ 8 seconds medium pressure is what we used.
