I have some older software that I might want to run on my old Mac min (just so I don't have to purchase another PC). Would it just be easier to get another PC rather than to do whats needed to get my Mac running the Windows XP?

do you have a windows xp cd?
you can download virtual box for free http://virtualbox.org (http://virtualbox.org) , but on an older mac mini, it's gonna be slow.
I've seen people load windows 7 on mac mini's.. not sure if you'd have driver compatability for xp.

yes, buy a $99 refurb form a place like Micro Center and be done with it.

I run VMWare Fusion on my Mac (OSX10.5). You can run Windows within that without having to reboot.

I have Fusion on my Mac, but no longer use it (the need changed, as things do). There is also another program called Parallels...

We run Win XP on a Mac Mini (2012) flawless. We invested in an SSD and 16gb ram though, otherwise it wouldn't run. For the cost, might as well buy a new cheap laptop
