Title: dryer extension
Post by: Croft on January 25, 2016, 10:27:37 AM
Has anyone fabled up there own dryer extensions?

I only ask because I want to extend my dryer indeed by 6' and with the weakness of the Canadian dollar the extension ends up costing 50% more than list price.

I have a relationship and access to a fab shop and am pretty handy , Belt extension won't be a problem because there are a few belt manufacturers close by.

I see no problem with it, if you get the right metal and make sure everything is cut correct so the belt will track right and like you say your pretty handy so you should be fine.

yea i figured as long as it was square it should be ok , the C channel as it stands looks to be a lower gauge steel

My old American dryer had an extended in-feed when I got it. It was merely heavy U-channel that fit in the existing rails.

6ft is a lot to add and the roller for the belt is pretty heavy at least the one on our dryer is not ton heavy but enough I would want the right gauge steel plus your loading it with shirts or hoodies.

there would be adjustable legs added, to help with weight, have seen a few pics of the dryer with extensions so have a good idea where the legs should go.
