we tried a pre-production sample of the war paint and liked it, but we do so many low-quanity poly and blends here that setting up 2 screens just doesn't work in our model.

EKO from Rutland. Acrylic and won't dry in your screen.

Wilflex just launched their Wilflex One non-pvc: http://www.polyone.com/products/screen-printing-inks/wilflex-one-non-pvc-plastisol-inks (http://www.polyone.com/products/screen-printing-inks/wilflex-one-non-pvc-plastisol-inks)
Also International Coatings has some real good specialties in non-PVC: http://www.iccink.com/AXEON%20Non-PVCNon-Phtalate.htm (http://www.iccink.com/AXEON%20Non-PVCNon-Phtalate.htm)

I thought axeon had special effect only, not regular color yet.
EKO price is one of the highest on the market...
I tested many many many brand since 2008, lot of ink are crap (feel of the print, bad wet on wet printing..)
The best of the best I tried is Ultrasol G6, and it sells in the US, not yet for Europe.
I am currently testing a turkish brand, and soon the new Wilflex one. Funny in 2008 it was the Wilflex Quantum one, not really good, so I hope they improve their chemistry.

You are correct about IC Azeon - even though the web site states more; the colors/base are not available.
Wilflex has gone through a few iterations of PVC free since Q1. Q1 was an industry first, and yes there were issues - notable hand/feel and aging. The new Wilflex One is a wholly different chemistry approach that solves these.

Wilflex One has an excellent handle, is incredibly easy to mix, has great printability and wash durability - I personally put it through its paces some weeks back and was delighted with the results - the chemistry for these types of inks is not easy to master for any manufacturer - however, I think Wilflex have pulled a rabbit out of the hat here

Do you have any price tag ? how much % more expansive is it compare to wiflex epic ?
Thank you ;D

Bonjour Mon Amis :) It will definitely be more expensive to purchase than the EPIC Range of inks by the gallon - the chemistry behind these systems is more expensive by its nature and is likely to remain that way for some time.
The main purpose of the system is to satisfy the ever increasing need for NPVC systems, often initiated by major Global Brands - water based systems have so far been the answer - however - we must remember to consider the "Cost" of running the systems we run and not just look at the bucket price.
There are costs associated with water based/discharge which we often forget - such as mixing time (tweaking for Pantone accuracy), color shifts during runs, downtime, increased house keeping, clean up hassle, mesh staining plus waste and disposal etc, etc - I will be running trials of the Wilflex One around Europe - I will keep you up to date

American use all plastisol but Europe need non plastisol. Is there any reason for this?

You will find an increasing demand in the Americas - It is really driven by retail Brands such as Nike, adidas, NEXT, M&S,C&A - promotional print shops are still somewhat unaffected and continue to use plastisol both in Europe and the Americas, in Europe there are specific regions that print for retail and this is where the demand is highest - some European countries have no need for non pvc at all - these are typically domestic printers who do not Export and have no Restricted Substance List to adhere to

We are located in pakistan . For american garment export its all plastsiol and for europe its allcpvc free.

That is very interesting indeed - thank you for sharing

Philip,
Do you know if this ink will be GOTS approved ? In today's market, this is mandatory in my opinion.
I will be very happy if I could try it.
Thank you for all this informations

Thank You Boris
I will pass the link on to the relevant contact at Wilflex, however, I am hearing it is almost impossible to speak with someone there

Sure this is just the standard they don't give any certification.
It is easy for one of your chemist to see if you can comply or not with the standard.
Then you have to be assessed to get the certification

Hi willy35
Thanks for the links - are you planning on going totally NPVC?
I have actually visited your shop some years ago - I think we met at the Lyon show 2009 and then I came to your place in Brittany at some point where you had 1 M&R 12 colour machine and were using roller frames which I thought was pretty impressive :-) Not a typical set up.
How are things today - hope you are still progressing the way you set out to do
all the best
Phil

Hey Philip, that brought us back in 2008 ;D
There has been a lot of water under the bridge since, we change for a bigger place, 2 autos now and a 3rd in a near future I hope !
Totally NPVC is our goal, but not at all cost !
We are 50/50 PVC/NPVC
2016 is Gots certification for us, we use GOTS ink water based and oil based, and still look at new NPVC ink.
After speaking with some EU Wilflex resellers, they told me Wilflex one could be on the market in april.
I am eager to test it !
Thank you for refreshing my memory !
