Title: Transfer Express Numbers...
Post by: dirkdiggler on February 16, 2016, 12:49:31 PM
Teams rolling in and have for years used transfer express numbers on 100% poly jerseys with no issues, but the last few batches of numbers we got from them were printed so thin that the jerseys bleed really easily.  Anyone have this issue with them, also is there another go to, that offers the same thing but better quality?

Have not had that problem with opacity. We got a recent batch where a lot of the packs had inadequate adhesive powder. We had to double press times to get them to adhere to the garment. We told them about it and they agreed to replace those for us.

Just had the same issue with their numbers. The names were better and did not bleed at all, which made the numbers look even worse.

same here!  there has to be another option if they wont do it right, I have complained to them several times, but it goes in one ear and out the other.

Hate to hear this.....Been pretty lucky with them before.  About to have to order a bunch of numbers with baseball season looming quickly.  Anyone with other suggestions please let us know...Only bad thing about F&M is no 6" numbers which is what most of our softball teams prefer.  Always somethin!! ::)

they do offer a poly version of the transfers, not sure if it's available in the numbers, but I would imagine it is. . .

we've used them a boatload and have had some very small issues here and there, yes as mentioned, more recently than normally. It's good to know that we are not just imagining things. I'll keep an eye out for a little bit.

Most of the time the transfers are good from them but we have some issues as well.

Had 2 color - white and gold transfers, some new some a few months old and the golds were different in color - we made sure not to mix one of each making a 2 digit number that would look terrible.  Came out okay luckily but stock colors man...

Wish we could have them come to this board and address these issues!  In public.

Still wishing...Here are some jerseys that are due today that are now messed up because TRANSFER EXPRESS will not fix the opacity issues.  I challenge them to come here and defend these issues or make them right.  The one on the right has low opacity the number on the left is fine, but next to each other on the same shirt it looks horrible.   Looks far worse in person.

My opacity has been good but yesterday I had to do a major league save job on a jersey and it still has a possibility of coming back.  They packaged the wrong color numbers in the black w/ white outline package.  You could not tell before pressing because the color was grey with white outline.  I peeled the backing and almost fainted when I saw it was grey.  Lucky for me I had ordered more than 1 pack so I opened another pack of the same #s and put it directly on top and it seemed to stick very well.  We will see what the washing machine does.  Stuff like that just should not happen.  If that jersey comes back I am out $30 because I will have to replace it.  That sucks!

We just had some black numbers yesterday that were having issues. Older batch was fine, new one would not peel. Placed a call to support and we are still waiting for the follow up phone call. . . There is a marked difference between the numbers, ones look gray and the others look black before pressing.

We use pre cut vinyl numbers from Stahls. They have many options for all different types of materials. Never had any issues....

Ditto here, have had numerous problems in the last few months with certain new number packs either not adhering properly or very very low opacity.

Pierre, didn't you say someone from there was coming to these boards to address this, its real, that's why people keep coming forward.

Lot's of issues recently.  We've used them for years without much to complain about but within the last year the product has gotten so bad I'm ready to bail on them.  I think the vinyl cut numbers might be our next option.  We have so many numbers that have huge chunks missing and opacity has been a real issue for poly garments.  Seems like the issues we have would disappear with the cut material, whether it's actually vinyl or some other material.

A couple months back we had an issue with white bella t's, a high end shirt with a very tight, smooth weave.  The numbers would not adhere no matter how long, how hot, or how much pressure.

2 freakin years ive been dealing with these issues. Do not seem to have a problem with the numbers releasing on 100% poly, but damn when i put it on a 50/50 its just crap.

Ive called all the time about this.

Ive been using them since i started about 10 years ago. No problems with anything until about 2 years ago. I called to see if they changed something and they said no..

They said its my heat press, ummmmm  not its not.

they are lying, and yes they did change something, about a year or 2 ago they changed the name of whatever they call the different kinds of numbers, they said it was only a name change, but the problems started happening shortly after.  They should have to pay for all the jerseys that get ruined and the business we lose because you never know how they will look until its to late.  Used to be AWESOME!  But now its junk.

its pretty obvious that they are not going to address these issues, I will show up at their booth in Nashville with a stack of the SHITE numbers and have them apply them right there on the floor with a crowd watching.  Trust me, this will happen!  Anyone coming to Nashville that wants to join me, let me know.  The more the better.

You can add me to the list of "unhappy".  Placed the number 13 on a jersey, the 1 was so thin and the the 3 was fine, looked pretty stupid on the shirt.

lol this is such a good idea.  If they have like half a dozen shops show up throughout the day all making a scene about their shitty numbers I bet it would get at least some attention...

Just received this from them.

Hi

We haven’t had any issues and haven’t changed anything.  Could the shirt be sublimated?  If so you would need sub block numbers.      Let me know what you are numbering and I can help

 Thank You

Hi

We have not changed anything but you do need to get the right product for the job.   We can help, if using sublimated polyester like dirkdiggler is using, the shirts are changing and we do have different products for the new shirt types, but it is not goof proof.

 Thank You

If it is 100% polyester have you tried  Elasti Prints which are specifically made for this material and apply at a lower temperature to   I can send you a white sample, I think it will work better.  As polyester has got more popular the material is changing to achieve low cost points.    We developed Elasti Prints and Sub Block for this purpose.

 Thank You

in there defense, they are trying to give me answers, but the issue is opacity.   Every printer here with these problems knows that.  I have a stack of numbers to show them and I will.  Again, just seeking solutions, not problems.

believe it or not, I have even seen opacity variances on their Thermo Film material, but thankfully, rarely. Like these printed transfers though, one has to be careful to not mix the good with the bad.

We are happy to help anyone that is having any issues with any product.   We stand behind it completely.   Either a call tag can be issued to pick up the product or they can shipped back to us directly.    Any defective product would be replaced or refunded, whatever works best.   Thank You

That's appreciated, and certainly about all that anyone can do, but also, unfortunately, in the real world, even a temporary problem with defective product can really put a shirt decorator behind the 8-ball.

Thanks for coming here and addressing the issue, its a start.  That's all we want here is for suppliers to come here and represent their product and address issues,  not just make blank statements and then run.  I am gonna contact you and have you send the call tags and let you see my issues and I will happily tell how it went.  Thanks for speaking up.

I am checking in but I do not see any responses after my last post. Is this issue getting resolved? If not, I will contact Transfer Express again.

Thanks,

not resolved on my end.  they want me to send back all the numbers I have for them to test, but I need them right now, we are busy.  not all are bad, it random and you never know which out of a pack will be bad until its too late.  don't know what to do short of start with all new numbers and I have a bunch in stock, it would be very expensive.

Not sure who they spoke with but it definitely was not me!!  Sure wish they would because the little wrong color in the black and white package cost me a $40 jersey :-(
