Title: priming ink cartridge

I have a fairly new Epson R1900 and switched it over to refillable ink cartridges, I guess i need to keep a better eye on the ink levels , because I let my MK cartridge run out and not the darned thing won't print, it is streaking, I have heard one can re-prime  the cartridges, or does anyone have suggestion on how to get it to pick the ink back up.

When that happens on my 1400 I just run a head cleaning and that usually gets it back printing again.
