Has anyone seen/heard much about the XTS?

You should have asked when you were here lol ;)

I know we breifly talked about it but I had some printed sample images here I would have given ya
-
Dang it. Had too many other things to ask about!
So what do you think from the samples?
I'll be in touch with Nazdar this week to see about how many are in the field and get some user feedback hopefully.

Last I heard only 1 unit still in the field which was the beta site, 4 machines sold at long beach being built and installed anytime if not already in. The dot quality and overlap areas looked very good on the sample sheets I had them make. Xerox print head looks promising when you look at the other applications it's used on but I've personally not done enough research to have much opinion on the dts application. Resolution wise it's really nice though from the bit of loupe examining I have done. I've heard of lots of happy ijet2 clients so I can only imagine kiwo has done sufficient testing on this xts model. Only time will tell though but from what I've seen I really liked it

Cool. I actually really like the I jet 2 with the enclosed cabinet. I know that probably slows thing down a touch with loading/unloading but you can control a little boxed in environment like that a lot more easily than a whole room.
-
What about pricing? Probably more expensive than M&R, Douthitt, Exile....?
-
I believe the list price is 62k but I've seen quotes less then that

That's actually very affordable given the print size of the XTS.
-
I hope they make more of an effort to promote this thing than they did the Ijet2.
-
I'd be wary of their support

Is KIWO USA not known for good support? Or would it relate to small customer base with their units.
Oh, I got it. You probably had their iJet 1?
-
I heard the I jet one was no fun at all. Dave I'll pm ya if you don't care to elaborate here.

My experiences may have been isolated.
PM me for more info.

After much prodding of the Kiwo rep by our Nazdar rep it sounds like there is only two machines actually in existence, the company one is going to a show so nobody can make me test screens at the moment and the rep said he'll "have to ask" if I can speak with the other owner. That was weeks ago. So the XTS is probably a no-go based off that response- practically zero in the field and zero references with zero opportunity for inspection outside of a show setting. Shame, as new print head tech is typically a good thing. Will have to see how it pans out for others.

Zoo, I will save you the money...... There's a DLP type unit that should be hitting the market here within the next couple months(in testing now)......... This will have a very similar price point to a standard ink jet dts machine and you will have zero consumables. This will be a game changing machine for what it can do. Image setter quality halftones, no consumables, and a price point on par with a std dts........ It's right around the corner
-
Who's making it Kiwo?
-
Nope, it's a major player though......
-
Have you been testing it Danny?
