I have a customer who says the art was made with Corel Draw, so I told him to covert the text to vector, save it as a pdf and send it. Pretty jaggy in Illustrator (Mac), and the Links pallet defines the image as a jpeg, so what's happening here? Does my customer not know what he is doing, or is there some strange conversion that a non CD user like myself is missing? Thanks

Have him export as an editable .eps file and then send to you.

Yes, he just replied and is sending it that way...

When he is exporting it... it changes to jpeg. He can attach the CDR file to his email and it should work.

I did get the .eps file, same thing, jpeg artifacts and all. I'm waiting on the .cdr file, Andy said he could convert it for me, so I'm waiting, waiting, waiting...

If his .cdr file was created and has .jpg's in it they will remain as .jpg's. If it is a vector it should come to you as a vector. I would love to see the file if possible. I work in Corel only and seem to fight these things on a weekly basis. Especially when the files are coming from the many new "Graphic Artists" that are popping up everywhere. Thanks, LarryK

Steve sent this to me a few hours ago (but to my junk email so I didn't notice it for a while)
It opened fine, and did not appear to contain any raster uglies. I sent it back to him as an ai, pdf, and eps. Let's see how it goes.

It worked fine, however, there was another design inside it that was hidden (viewed in wireframe) but I picked the unwanted stuff out and the rest is just fine. Thanks Andy...

I get that a lot, as since it's been covered up, most feel that it is now "out of sight, out of mind". Usually, it is fortunately.
