Title: Heat Pressing before Screen Printing?
Post by: ScreenPrinter123 on April 29, 2016, 07:35:29 AM
It would save time for me to heat press some flags (Transfer Express American Flags - screen printed transfer) to the sleeve of some t-shirts and THEN screen print the front and back.  Will I encounter a problem with the flag ink melting in the dryer/getting screwed up for any other reason?  I was thinking about hiding the flag under the rest of the garment to try to mitigate heat getting to the flag, but then I was thinking the heat may cause the flag to melt a little and stick to the shirt that it's touching.  Anyone done this before without issues?  Thoughts?

Thanks.

We haven't had any problem, and we do both, depends on the job, but think of the transfer as though you had printed it, no problem doing fronts and backs, so it's really the same thing...

Transfer Express American Flags are screen printed transfers. You can run them down the dryer with no issues. Its almost better to run them down the dryer after the pressing so that you know they are cured.

In the 15+ years I have used Transfer Express UI have not had many issues with any of their transfer being undercured......But IMO I think running them through the dryer "might" lead to them being over cured....
