Title: Holy crap these shirts are messy!
Post by: im_mcguire on May 04, 2016, 07:07:49 PM
So we are on a run of 5,000 black Hanes 5250 and we are just about done with the fronts and today I notice the floor is a absolute mess from the shirts.
We are running larger and larger orders now, and I am curious to hear how you guys keep clean while running large orders? There is lint floating across my shop onto my inks and dirty screen racks. Just wondering if you all have any tips on how to prevent this, or at least calm it down a bit.

Thanks everyone!

Just send those larger orders to me and you can do the 48 piece runs  ;D

Just wait until you print a few thousand Comfort Colors :-/

I have this.. it gets the job done!

Just to note, the lint on the floor was from scrubbing platens to refresh the adhesive, this unit catches about 90% of the lint but some still seems to find its way onto every surface.

How noisy is the fan?

How noisy is the fan?

It's a standard blower motor that goes in a household furnace unit (I got it for free from a friend that owns a hvac company) so it's not super quiet but not any louder than the air compressor and auto running.  You could find a quieter fan but to catch the most lint you need one that cycles a lot of air if you're printing fast.

We have those under the load/unload on all our presses.  Change the filters about every two days. We make ours with carpet drying blowers. They are not loud at all.
