Title: Two Thumbs Up for guys at BBC
Post by: Denis Kolar on October 21, 2011, 10:39:06 AM
I have ordered new heat element for my dryer which was promptly made and shipped next day by BBC.
Two days later I get the element delivered by UPS.  Unpack it and put it next to my panel to swap it with the old one.
And then I remembered a guy named Murphy and and his law :(
The wiring was wrong, the element had wires on the short side instead of the long side. (18x24 element) No way of wiring ir correctly and by the code.

So, I wait until they open their shop in the morning, talk to Mark and Jackie, and 20 minutes later I have new panel on the way (slightly lower wattage, but the same sizing). And what I was surprised by, they will ship the new one today without waiting for the old one and they will cover the shipping for the new one and for the old one to be shipped back.

Thanks BBC.

Thanks, it's good to hear positive feedback on a business. Good deeds and good business needs to be announced/promoted more often. Lord know's you's see it when it's negative.

I'm guessing that it was a much better price. BBC and Intek often make the very same panels as go into other manufacturer's dryers anyway.

Yes, I have Atlas 824.
Heat panel from Atlas is $460 and they do not offer heating elements only.
I already have panel housing from the dead panel, and I needed was heating element.

$148 comparing to $460, I think I'll go with $148 ;)

Yeah, it's not like these co's mfg the IR panels in house.  Maybe some do but most probably come from the above to co's that specialize in it.  If you needed the whole housing, etc., getting it from the original equipment mfg probably is beneficial but otherwise not so much.
