I have a home made pneumatic stretcher that for the most part works well
Using Saati mesh on statics I can stretch 110/80 to about 6 newtons, 158/64 to 24 newtons.
I've been trying to stretch 230/40 and at 20+ newtons it rips apart. I think I should be able to get over 20 but for some reason its tearing.
I've looked for sharp edges that might cause this but it sometimes rips in the middle of the mesh and not next to a clamp.
Any ideas?

Perhaps pictures would help

Did you say you were stretching statics? So your using the style glue right? Been almost 2 decades since I did that and I might be able to help but I need to see your set up; picture please.

isn't 230/40 a smartmesh or thin thread?
max tension on that is 20 something

230-40 is a thinner Saati thread 48 is standard. Recommended is 20-24 we stretch to 28 and relax to 24-26, great ink deposit at that tension.
