Title: How would you sep/print this?
Post by: sqslabs on June 11, 2016, 09:32:51 PM
I figured this one would be pretty straightforward, but its going on black, navy and light grey shirts and I'm having trouble getting my head wrapped around the way to sep it.  Is underbasing the whole thing the only way to see the same results on darks and lights?  Already set it up once (and failed), and would like to get it right the second time around.  Interested to hear how others would tackle it before round two next week.

Under base it all, and maybe you can get away with no base on light grey (silver?) but if you want consistent results under base it all.

Or do discharge / discharge base it since Black, Navy and Silver would work well for it, you will get some color shifts due to the fabric probably.

Base on all colors for consistent color, even white shirts.

Can you discharge them all? Then I would do it like that, 5 colors.

Thanks guys, full base it is..  Discharge is not in the cards for this one.

Not underbasing the Dark Grey and Light Grey may work. I printed dark and light grey without an underbase going on a black tee with in the past couple weeks and the end result was really nice. Much softer feel than using a big slab of ink for the underbase.
