Hello All, My name is John Magee.
I represent the Rutland Group's Ink lines. My main focus is on Union Ink. I have been in the screen print game for coming up on 24 years. I've owned a couple of shops and am experienced with M&R automatic presses. (Printing and repairing). My shop held several awards in special effects printing, design, and process printing.

Hello there. We use Union inks at our shop for the last 10 years or maybe even longer. Just did some trade show samples with the new improved glow in the dark ink for the Union Ink distributer here in Japan.
I for sure have some questions sooner or later.
-
welcome aboard John
dont ever change the union tru process colors, thanks.

John, glad to see you made it. This place is full of great people, and then some like me. I'm sure you'll be a welcome addition. Great having you in the shop last week. Door is always open.

I'll echo the others and say welcome aboard.
-
Glad your here too John, would love to talk about Unions white inks that I don't use, but use every other union ink.
-
Welcome John. Is Mike U still with y'all or is he finally getting to relax? I only met him a few times years and years ago and he gave me a few "shop management" papers / articles he wrote that really helped. Glad you are here. Dive in!

Brandon,
If Mike hasn't retired yet, he will be within a few months.
Welcome aboard John!

Thank you sir, let me know what I can do to help. Whatever you do though- don't spill any of the glow in the dark ink on a concrete garage floor. about once every other month I walk out into my garage with the lights off and get a surprise...

I could not agree with you more. There is a very firm message within Union to keep our inks true to what you have come to expect.

What is the premiere white ink from Union?

Mike retired back in February, I e-mailed with him last month and he was getting started on some Mike projects. I think we will see him on here eventually, and I will be shocked if we don't see him at ISS. He was toying with the idea of doing some consulting back when I was traveling with him- and I hope he does. God knows this industry needs as much help as it can get.
He and I shared the fact that we have been to 48 states but not Alaska or Hawaii- well for his birthday/retirement his wife surprised him with a cruise to Hawaii. His favorite part was being on the ship and simply being allowed to read. I expect he is probably working on some non-industry writing as well.
It gives me hope that he made it to the finish line! Less and less of us will have the chance to retire, so I hope I can figure out what all he did to make it to the win.

Thank you all, I replied to most everyone- but I'm not sure if I did it correctly. Let me know if I did not respond to your questions.

I moved your reply to 3deep to the Ink and Chemical section, which is also where I hope folks start directing their questions to you about the more technical aspects of your inks. We started to stray further and further away from a simple introduction and greetings.

As far as I know we do not offer an ink by the name of Premiere. If you are asking what our best white ink is, I'd need to know for which application.
Let me know and I will get back to you.

Now let's hope that folks get the message and direct technical questions or product comments over there or now in the Union Manufacturer's Section as well.
