Hello everyone, long time lurker and first time poster. We have had our I-Image STEII for a year now and all of a sudden, with one particular job, it has been ignoring our template marks and printing left chest and center chest-aligned images in the complete opposite location on the screens.
We've printed other jobs and there has been no problems. We've deleted the files out of the Print Que and resent them to no avail. Anyone know what it could be?!
Thanks guys!

i have no answer for this, but this happens to us from time to time, and i'd love to know why.
-
Ive not seen that one. I am no help.
-
Do these machines offer a "Print Preview" ?
-
Never saw that. Stupid answer might be to restart all programs and the machine and don't forget the computer on the I-Image as well. If that doesn't work I'd say you have a communication error with in the hot folder.

is your template in Illustrator? make sure someone didn't accidentally "un-click", use art boards. Other wise you will see your art rip in the center. Just something to double check.

This ^
Is the first place to look.
If you're having everything created centered in illustrator and having our rip do the left chest via an environment then make sure the environment didn't lose it setting for the offset.
Our techs can logon via team viewer and check this remotely

Yes, they have a print preview in the Print Production programs.
Does it show up correctly there guys? If it does, then there is a miss (oddly enough) for that one file at the printer machibes end.
Let be back track first. When it prints, is is printing that left chest (flipped) and to the right chest location...as in right reading "on the screen?
I haven't had any calls on this problem but maybe other techs have heard of it. I'll check with Alex and actually, your best troubleshooting g options is by contacting the digital dept as we have typically heard of al of the issues.
If it were just (not placing correctly), I'd say it was a hidden art element in the file causing it to miss align.
If it were not As an eps and using (the template and "use art board, range 1), it will snap to top center (default location).
In your case, it sounds as if you are sending correctly but the positioning?to the opposite side. This normally can't happen. The program's just down "move elements" to another location. It has to be pre programmed in preferences to do so.
Could it be that you have a new custom folder in Color Print rip (folder setups) that tell a print to be moved to a specific location? That can be done. Perhaps it was loaded into a folder like this...that you just don't normally use?
Best bet is to contact Alex W. 847 410 3500;155 At the Digital dept.
I'm on the road and just happened to stop to get gas and saw this.
There must be a reason why it only happens randomly or to only a few jobs. Typical reason is that you may have overlooked saving with using the (art board and range 1). If not any of the above, it may be something unique in that particular art file.

Mammoser beat me to it.

Alright well I checked the .eps file and I did have the Use Artboards checked as well as the Range of 1 so I eliminated that problem. I just called the Tech number and left my phone number for someone to call me back. Thanks for all of your suggestions! Dottonedan you're actually the guy that installed ours last year. :)

Daniel, I was hinting at, and Dan asked how does it display in Print Preview?
-
Customer service on point.
-
It displays correctly in the Print Preview window which is the strangest thing.
-
Well the great customer service at M&R, after waiting nearly 35 minutes on hold, helped me solve the issue by meticulously walking me through the painful and complex process of...restarting the computer and switching the USB cable to another port. :-\
Thanks to you guys for your help and Alex-the-Man at M&R!
-
Interesting, as I had a similar issue with my plotter/cutter not liking a particular port/ cord combination.

Windows is absolutely redonkulous in how it handles USB ports. I plugged my phone into
our shop floor computer yesterday and it crashed the effing thing.

Just a FYI if the system is busy leave a message and you are automatically dialed back as soon as a tech hangs up and frees up. No need to stay on hold.
