Title: Separation- Photo realistic skin tones
Post by: myseps on November 01, 2011, 06:02:28 PM
Skin tones are a challenge to most printers.  It's either too brown, or too orange, or it just becomes a blob of white highlights.  Here's a separation I did from high resolution photographs that came out pretty nice. 9 colors.

Nice.  Most of the mass numbers of shops don't have more than 7 colors these days. It seems to be a trend to get less colors or maybe more of the smaller to medium shops are able to go for Auto's with limited colors.

Most times, I'm asked to do stuff like that in 6 color and a manual press. Of course it doesn't look a good as if it were don in 9-12.

Nice job on this one.

Its actually 8 colors but this customer likes to print black on black and also the seps need to work across all body colors.  So I always include the black plate even if its not needed.

I am more accustom to using black than not. I separated a job the other day with no black (on black shirts) and it would have been easier as well as printed better. Not sure of the result hadn't seen the printed version yet.

Did you get my email this morning?
