We have about 3,000 small flour sacks to print and they're asking for a food safe adhesive to be used on the platens. Looking for recommendations. Thank you.

Well we all know the kid that ate the paste in elementary school...
I'd be wary as I'm going to bet that if they are asking for that then everything else
has to be food safe as well, ink, emulsion, etc. Not that it isn't, just that no one has paid
the FDA to say so.

how many colors on the print? if its a one color i would use some double sided tape to hold the very top of them down so they don't move during index.
you could also maybe use those sweat-sheets that R. Jennings sells...

H.B. Fuller is the go to place for food grade adhesives and packaging of all sorts.

There will be no food touching the actual bag. They will hold a food mix that will be in a plastic bag. I have a sweat sheet here someplace from Roger, won't work, material is too thin. The tape could work. I'll check out the Fuller site. Thanks!

I print a lot of paper bags and do not use adhesive on any of them, including multiple color prints. I haven't found waterbased inks to be sticky enough to move the bags honestly. Bags get loaded fully onto the pallet and I print toward the center of the press so they cant move anywhere since the bottom of the bag is pushing against the end of the pallet.
