yea homer.. i youtube already like i learned from you. LOL
I'm trying to upload a video somehow.. what a waste of time.
-
I got it up, now i think somehow the timing is off. I switched colors but now when the needle goes down its hitting the metal of the bobbin holder.
and that two pronged thingy is in instead of being out.

Did the needle snap? It sounds to me there is something in the rotary hook. That's why it won't move. I have had that happen before. You might have to remove the rotary hook.
-
the person said yes it snapped. then she changed it and then it got stuck down. I was not here at the time.
I'm trying to send video to my email from phone but thats not working either.

Is there a wheel on back turn it til it is where it needs to be. No sure they only have swfs.

on the back of your maching you should have a wheel that you can turn when the machine is off. see if you can turn it. if not then you have a piece of the needle in the rotary hook area. you need to find it because it is jammed in which is preventing the machine from turning which then lifts the needle. you may need to remove the rotary hook all together. if the needle did break or snap then you may have also snapped the recipricator (plastic suppose to break when a jam happens). this would also cause the needle to not rise but it would still allow the rotary hook to spin.
hope it helps. not a hard fix just time consuming the first time. there are alot of forums and good help out there to get it fixed.

If the end of the needle was not found(I always try to find it so I know it's not in the hook) I have a feeling it is jammed in the hook somewhere.
Which Tajima do you have?
-
If the needle hit the rotary hook, the timing is off. You might as well pull the hook
because you will have to reset it anyway. Should be three set screws on the shaft.

Thanks Moose. ill check it out.
no dial in back on the tajima. I may just wait until after the holidays to play with it and try to fix the timing. Its hard to pay attention now because its crazy. Just sucks that only my double is working.

Hey Rob,
found this. This might help.

I know with my machine, all my timing adjustments are on the side of the machine.

thanks dude! Im going to play with it as soon as next week is over. Just don't have the time yet.
that looks so much better than the manual i have
-
The manual that comes with the machine is NOT user friendly. I think something gets lost in translation..... :o

Amen to that. It once took me 6 months to figure out I needed a $50. proximity switch
on my hat machine.
