Title: Weird clicking / pinging from belt roller - Sprint 2000
Post by: Evo on December 14, 2016, 10:42:43 PM
So on the outfeed end of our Sprint 2000, the roller, or the bearings, or the roller motor is making an intermittent clicking sound. It sounds like it's on one side, or the other, or near the motor, or everywhere at once. Def somewhere around the roller though.

Any ideas?

Cricket-like chirp or a sharper, louder click?

Ours makes some soft chirpy sounds back there all the time I think, hard to hear with everything going on out there.

I would slip the belt off from motor to roller, check roller by hand to see if it's turning smooth.  Then do the same with the motor.  Isolate it and go from there.

Might could check the bushings on the motor while yer at it, I forget about those easily, thanks for a reminder actually.

belt is either too tight or the Allen screws on the roller to the shaft are loose
