Anyone ever do the Gildan rebate? This is the first year I actually cared enough/figured it would be worth it. I tried to begin filling the info out online and it looks like you need to fill it out for EVERY invoice individually!!! As in if you had 67 invoice numbers, you would fill it out 67 times and also get 67 rebate cards?
Is that accurate? Anyone know?
I clicked on the "help" tab and emailed them, email got bounced back after 2 days...
-
tiff has been doing them, and she hasn't found an option yet to get all of the invoices batched onto one card either.
I think we received like 20 of the cards so far... just wait till you get them as you have to call on the phone and individually activate each one too.
felt sorry for the poor girl at the liquor checkout on saturday.. I think she rang the register like 5 or 6 times with all of our $18-$32 cards LOL
-
I took the time to submit them individually (didn't see any way to group them, because they were on 7 different invoice numbers). My total rebate was $198 and it took me about 45 minutes, so I'd probably do it again.
-
Wow. That is so stupid.
So is the rebate on full dozens then? For some reason I thought when I was filling them out it was dropping off the individual ones.
Thanks guys!
-
My thought on this is that by making it a pain ie individual invoices that they are hoping no one wants to go through the trouble.
-
yes its a pain, and yes 1 at a time, and yes we do it!
-
Rebates in general weed out the lazy or procrastinator from the rebate champs.
I understand that in the world of rebate promotions, fewer than 50% get submitted.

I submitted mine in even dozen quantities only.
Odd -or- combined quantities didn't seem to work for me. At one point I began to wonder if the rebate site even worked (it wouldn't let me proceed to the next step).

I had no idea this existed thx! Somebody in the office will endure the tedium for that sweet $6/doz I'm sure. That's some reasonable beer money.
-
If there isn't a certain time limit on it I may go back and do the same considering that there are tumbleweeds blowing through the shop now. I think I may have forgotten how to turn on the press.
It's amazing how it goes from super swamped to extremely dead so suddenly.

Remember that this is fleece.
btw, Hanes had something similar going

Think Jerzees did too. But I haven't let one of those POS in my shop in probably 4 years! :P

The Gildan rebate is for product bought between Aug12-Dec31. The rebate has to be postmarked by Jan31 to qualify.

Yes, you have to enter each invoices separately. The online system was not create to make it easy to get the rebates, certainly not for hundreds of wholesale purchases. The site also crashes frequently. In this age of web ordering and data interchange, If Gildan really wanted to make it easy to pay the rebate they would have. Fruit of the Loom made the rebate reporting a bit easier than Gildan, accepting a total of 4 invoices per submission. When the next rebate rolls around I will give FOL all my business, but I will wait to see if I am actually paid all the rebate money.
-
To follow up.. I received my FOL rebate with a check and a statement. Thank you Fruit of the Loom for processing my rebate perfectly and timely and making it easy to file the claim.
Nothing yet from Gildan, but I am expecting what I think will be a few hundred gift cards that I will need to activate. Will see. I gave Gildan most of my rebate business last Fall, but next time a rebate is offered from both FOL and Gildan, I will go with FOL because they made it easier to get my rebate, and paid timely with a check.

My Hanes came through quicker than they said it might.

After the 8 weeks came and went and no rebate, I received this letter today. WHAT A JOKE. I have already been paid by fruit of the loom. Fruit made it easier and paid early. I knew this was going to be a hassle.

It's likely that the rebates are being handled by a third party who was either overwhelmed, or dropped the ball.
At least you are being kept in the loop.

It's clear that these rebates are contracted to "4myrebate.com" and blaming the company they hired. 4myrebate had no BBB rating and have complaints posted all over the internet. This was not a wholesale friendly rebate procedure and Gildan's marketing department had to know this. 1 out of 3 entries crashed and the system goes down frequently. I took a video log to document when it became clear to me that receiving the Gildan rebate as promised was not going to be easy.
Out of their control? Nope. If Gildan honestly wanted to fix the failure and make good on their promises, all they would have to do is take the rebate totals and mail all of us checks. That would have been easier than authoring a crafty delay letter blaming the problem something other than themselves. Someone should file a claim with the federal trade commission.
Next time I am giving Fruit or Hanes the business if head to head rebates are offered again.
